Custom Instructions allow you to give ChatGPT persistent context so you don't have to repeat yourself in every new chat.
- Go to Settings > Custom Instructions.
- Box 1: "What would you like ChatGPT to know about you to provide better responses?" (e.g., I am a high school teacher in London).
- Box 2: "How would you like ChatGPT to respond?" (e.g., Keep answers under 2 paragraphs, do not use jargon).
When to use this
Use this if you consistently need the AI to output in a specific format (like Markdown) or if you want it to always adopt a specific persona.
